What Causes Pressure And Uncomfortable Feeling Between Rib Cage And Abdomen?

Hi I have this weird feeling sitting in between the bottom of my rib cage and like mid abdomen and it a weird feeling I don t really know how to explain. It s not painful but it s like it s empty and has pressure there, it s really uncomfortable. I don t know what it is, and when I get it I have the need to lie down and try and wait it out but it s becoming more frequent. I don t think it s hunger. But whenever I go to eat anything my appetite is gone from the feeling, it gives me slight nausea too when I get the feeling.

Hi,
Thanks for writing your query.

After reading your post, it seems that you might be having gastritis.
An Endoscopy may be helpful to confirm the diagnosis.

I would advise that you should take an antacid like Omeprazole 40mg once a day before meals along with Domperidone 30mg for relief from your symptoms.

Following precautions will be helpful :-
1.Avoid spicy and oily foods.
2.Avoid being empty stomach for long periods.
3.Avoid mental and emotional stress.
4.Avoid smoking and alcohol, if any.
5.Avoid self medications, especially pain killers and steroids.
6.Drink lots of water daily.
7.Eat light meals prepared under hygienic conditions.
8.Avoid gas producing foods like peas, cabbage, legumes, etc.
