What Causes Postmenopausal Vaginal Bleeding?

I have postmenopausal bleeding, light bleeding. I have awakened throughout the night with heavy light red bleeding and have had to change my pantyliners three times. the bleeding appears to be getting heavier. I have an appointment scheduled for April 12, 2017, for a transvaginal screening. I just got over the flu, should I be worried about this increased bleeding?

Hi, I think there can be two main reasons of bleeding. One is atrophic vaginitis and other is endometrial carcinoma. Do a ultrasound to see the endometrial thickness. If it is more than 4 mm, you need a biopsy to rule out endometrial carcinoma. Discuss with your doctor regarding this.
