What Causes Post Tonsillectomy Complication?

I am adult male physician who had tonsillectomy 2 years ago. three months after surgery I developed a persistent twitch in my sterncloidomastiod muscle on my left side only. The twitch distorts my face, and is very bothersome. Is anyone aware of this post tonsillectomy complication? Treatment? Cause? Course?
