What Causes Porous And Crusty Gums After Using Whitening Strips?

I started using whitening strips about a week ago, today I found my gums to look porous and crusty. I picked at it it hurts and I can pick some of it off with my fingernail. I ve had sores on my gums before, this does not resemble a sore more like a sponge that hurts. Except made from my gums. Heeeelp

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

So sorry to hear about your problem and will try my level best to resolve it..

As per your complain porous and crusty appearance of the gums after using whitening strips that got picked off with finger nail seems to be most probably due to infection in the gums in that area due to deeper accumulation of debris and infection in the gums..
Secondly it can also be due to accumulation of plaque or calculus over the gums..

I would suggest you to consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated and he can do a thorough scaling of the teeth and gums followed by application of gum paint and antiseptic mouthwash gargles can help..

Any further questions are welcome..

Regards..
