What Causes Popping Up Of Knees After Total Knee Replacement?

I had a total knee replacement approx. 6 yrs ago on my left knee. My right knee is now bothering me and is popping like my left knee did prior to the replacement. I want to take some over the counter meds to help with the stiffness. But I was told ( by non medical friends)that because of the knee replacement I need to be careful what I take. I do have an apt to see my MD but I can not get in to see him until mid Oct and I want to start now so the cold winter will not kill me? Is there anything I can try? I use Motrin, Advil and Alieve on a rotating basis.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

It could be a trapped foreign body inside the joint cavity.

It is better to go for an MRI scan to make a diagnosis.

Consult an orthopaedic and get evaluated. He will direct you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
