Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain clogging and congestion in ear after a bout of cold seems to be most probably due to fluid accumulation behind the eardrum and blocked Eustachian tube..
It can occur after a bout of cold as the ear and throat are connected via Eustachian tube and mucous can get accumulated in the Eustachian tube..
There is also a possibility that due to blowing the nose too hard there seems to be due to perforation of the eardrum causing pain..
I would suggest you to consult an Otolaryngologist and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like x ray, MRI, otoscopy etc can help in diagnosis and treatment can be done accordingly..
You can be advised a course of antibiotics, oral as well as nasal decongestants like Xylometazoline nasal sprays.
Along with it steam inhalation and chewing chewing gum can help..
In case of no improvement in 15 days surgical drainage by making a small incision through the eardrum can help..
If there is eardrum perforation then either healing will occur with medication or surgical repair via Tympanoplasty can be done..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
