my Daughter was lifting her son, who is paralized waste down and brought him down a flight of stairs. ALl of a sudden, she heard a popping noise. Now she can not lay down, and even standing hurts. But it is a little better than standing. My grandson weights 130 pounds. Thanks, Nicole

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I think the sound and back pain may be related to herniated disc caused by lifting weights. She may need to do an X-ray of the lower spine and also may need an MRI to check for possible spinal issues.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Olgeta Xhufka, General & Family Physician
