What Causes Poking Sensation And Swollen Fingers After Placing Pins For Wrist Fracture And Nerve Damage?

My husband had a fracture on his wrist and also a nerve damage 4 weeks ago.He had a surgery that pins were used to put the bone in place. The stitches were taken out last week and a new cast was worn on him. He s always complaining the pins are poking him and the fingers are swollen again. What should he do?

I think you should show to your doctor as there is chances that cast is not applied properly and it is very tight and preventing blood flow. I would suggest you to show it to doctor. He will be able to check if every thing is normal with the plaster or not. I would also want to suggest your husband to keep his hand elevated and keep moving his finger as some time hanging your limb can increase swelling.
