Hi, I have a yeast infection. Tried to treat it myself with monistat. I noticed bloody clots pinkish clumpy discharge. Symptoms got worse. Went to obgyn she gave me a pink pill. 5 days late still have clumpy pink discharge. Do I get another pill?? Do I still have infection?? And why is there blood in my discharge if I m not due for my period??

General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Blood may be seen in an infection because the area is inflamed.

Infection may also alter the menstrual cycle so this is another possibility.

Since you are still noticing a discharge, the infection is likely still present.

This means that you need a repeat swab and treatment. The swab would determine what is causing the infection so that it can be appropriately treated.

I hope this helps
