What Causes Pink Vaginal Discharge During 26 Weeks Of Pregnancy?
Hello, I am 26 weeks pregnant and notice that the toilet paper after a wee in the morning for the last few days has a slight red/ pink tint to it which I have never had before. Just wondering if this is normal or if I should seek maedical advice from my doctor. Thanks, Lisa
You are having pink vaginal discharge at 26 weeks of pregnancy. At 26 weeks of pregnancy, the lower part of the uterus thins and bleeding may happen. Thinning causes the area of the placenta over the cervix to bleed. One should avoid having penetrative sex when pregnant. interference with the cervix during sex or vaginal examination may also cause pink mucus or brownish discharge to occur.
Sometimes, it may be indicative of placenta praevia or abruptio placenta. Stay at rest, avoid doing heavy work, driving or strenuous exercises. Get clinically examined by your gynae, get USG uterus done for the well being of the fetus. You will be treated accordingly.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
