Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My granddaughter (age 2) has three dime-size blotches on her left side at the waist. They are pink in the center and edged with a deeper pink/red tone. They are raised a little at the edges. She wants to scratch. I do not think it is mosquito bites. What does impetigo look like?
The pink blotches on waist indicate possible fungal or bacterial infection most likely. The impetigorash usually involves face, nose, forehead, hands and feet; they look bright red and turns into honey crusted lesion within a period of 5-7 days.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
