What Causes Pink, Brown And Yellow Menstrual Bleeding?

I got my period this month so I never thought anything about it, until it didn t end. I am going on day 11 and its very weird to me. On day 1-7 it was just a normal period I had no problems, day 7 I started getting pain in my lower abdomen it felt like cramps. On day 8 it was watery and pinkish, day 9 it was a brownish color, and then it was a yellowish color for the remainder of day 9 and day 10. Now, on day 11 it started out just a light yellowish color and now it is red again. I guess my question is do you have any ideas as to what could be going on and what I should do?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I want to know some more details like what is your age. If this is the first time happening. Sometimes prolonged bleeding and spotting may be a symptom of perimenopause. In other causes, it may indicate a problem with your endothelial lining or any fibrinoids.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Olgeta Xhufka, General & Family Physician
