What Causes Petechiae Despite A Normal Platelet Count?

I have a question? Can you get petechiae if your platelets are normal. The reason I wanna is because I have itp I m always on track when I see signs of my platelets dropping. My platelets dropped a couple of months ago and did my infusions. I thought that they were getting low because of the petechiae by getting my blood drawn twice within the past few weeks but the numbers are in 200,000. The petechiae will come and go. No signs of any bleeding. I just wonder if it s normal to have petechiae with normal numbers

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello

With your current platelet level the petechiae must be from something else like straining, vasculitis, low vitamin K levels, or possibly (though this would be very unlikely) leukemia.

Ask your doctor or hematologist about this to see if you need more testing
