What Causes Persisting Fever?

Hi, I'm a male 26 yrs of age. I had fever about a month ago, with cold and cough. I went to a doctor and he prescribed me NImdis, Mucosyn and tacerene tabs, which I took for a couple for days and the fever and cold reduced. However, since then my body temp. has been slightly higher than normal. A couple of days back, I got high fever and cold again. I took the same tabs and now fever and cold have reduced, but I'm worried about the prolonged higher than normal temp., which has been there for more than a month now. Please suggest any remedies. Also, I'm slightly overweight, and go to the gym regularly and sweat a lot during exercises.
