What Causes Persistent Shooting Pain In Neck And Ear In An Elderly Woman?

My mom is 87 and has been complaining for the last three weeks about a pain shooting up her neck and into her ear. She was given a steroid and antibiotic then fell. Nothing broken thankfully. She is very sleepy and says this pain in her neck is horrible. Any ideas?

I really appreciate your concern, such pain needs to be ruled out for trigeminal neuralgia and it can be tried with Tab Carbamazepine 200 mg once in day, but prior to this clinical examination is necessary because of her age, hope this information helps.
