What Causes Persistent Ringing Sound In The Ears With Hearing Loss?
My husband has suffered hearing loss in his right ear .he says it feels like its plugged but nothing we have tried is working. He went to his PC doctor and was told to see an ENT for further help he hasy he feels like he is under water and there is also ringing in the ear he is very frustrated because he cannot hear. he can plug his ear and release it and there is no difference in sound
Tinnitus is the abnormal noises in the ear such as the ringing, there are different causes , it can be permanent or temporary.
One cause or type of tinnitus is age related hearing loss, in this case, the hearing loss itself is associated with or a cause of the tinnitus.
An ENT doctor, as his PC suggested would be the best option to determine if there is a treatable cause such as infection, trauma, ruptured ear drum, anemia, excess ear wax etc
I hope this helps
