What Causes Persistent Pain In Hips And Thighs With Burning Urination?

42 year old female. Lapro myomectomy & TVT done in 2015. Since then I have been having a nagging pain in my outer side of the hips, Thighs & teething pain on my front thighs. I cannot lie down straight because of this pain. I am not content with the urine flow. Very slow and at times burning sensation! Did NCV and shows Mildly reduced motor activity from left peroneal nerve when compared to right. Did urethral dilatation twice. No respite. Pls advice

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

An occasional burning while urination can happen for other reasons also. So there is no need to check for now.

If you develop recurrent burning or any other significant symptoms like fever etc, then you can check.

Take precautions like

- drink more fluids but avoid sugary juices
- Drink cleaner water
- Too much antiseptic measures should not be employed locally, it may disturb local flora
- Avoid unnecessary antibiotics, antibiotic resistance is a growing problem.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Ivan R. Rommstein, General Surgeon
