What Causes Persistent Pain In Hip And Buttock?

I m having occasional pain in my right hip and or upper buttock. The pain feels as if I have fallen on my side. A few years ago, I felt this pain after a spontaneous brisk walk. I thought it might be bursitis. I like to ride bikes. I did not ride bikes last week, while I was vacationing in Hawaii. The pain seemed to increase though. It seems to hurt most when I stand up. General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Your symptoms seem to be related to sciatica pain. I recommend using anti inflammatory medication such as Ibuprofen 400 gm three times a day. Gentle stretching exercises may also be helpful in relieving the pain. If the pain continue, you should consult a neurologist for prescription painkillers.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
