What Causes Persistent Pain Despite Taking Oxycontin?

I am taking OxyContin 80 mg and OxyContin 60mg together three times a day. I have been taking this dosage for over two years now. I got to this amount by slowly increasing the amount over the past 15 years. It has gotten to the point that this dosage is no longer handling the pain. It is becoming obvious that I am going to half to change my medicine or increase the dosage. If I change the type of medicine what would be the next step or what I m saying is what kind of medicine would be next

Hi,

It is suggestive of opioid tolerance. Based on the history you seem to have developed decreased analgesic effects of oxycontin despite of increasing its dose over several years. Your doctor may prescribe other analgesics like methadone with ketamine or duloxetine or clonidine which are found to be effective in patients with opioid tolerance.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
