What Causes Persistent Infected Hard Boil In The Pelvic Region?

I have had pimple on my pelvic area for about a month or two. I can drain it every day with no pain, where pus and blood comes out of multiple areas (pores) of the pimple. It s is the size of about a quarter. I thought it was an ingrown hair but it doesn t seem to look like any hair is on the area. Once I drain it typically by accident while showering the bump is still there and a bump is under the skin as well. Once drained the area seems hard. What is this? Should I go to the doctor?

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

It is possible that it may be an abscess which is a localized collection of pus due to an infection.

Though it would drain intermittently, pockets of pus remain unless it is appropriately treated..
Treatment of an abscess normally involves incision and drainage, this is an in office minor procedure.

Antibiotics may also be needed.

I hope this helps
