What Causes Persistent Headaches And Fever In A Child?

Hi. My daughter is 11 years old. She started a headache around 3pm yesterday afternoon. No other symptoms. Today she has headache and fever (moderate 101-103). After a shower she says her skin feels sensitive. From my research I read these could be symptoms of strep or flu. Would you agree?

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query your daughter have symptoms of persistent headaches and fever which is due to viral infection as if fever episodes occurs twice in a day. Need not to worry it is a self limiting condition. You should give child multivitamin tablets. Give child Paracetamol at mild dose every 4-6 hrly. You can give child Tylenol as well. If this medicine will not give desired effect you should give Meftal P to your child. Symptoms will resolve its own in 3-4 days. If symptoms keeps on persisting visit Pediatrician once and get blood tests done and go for through examination and start treatment.

Hope your concern has been resolved.

Best Wishes,
