What Causes Persistent Headache And Backache With Alternating Fever And Chills?

For the past 2 weeks, I have been experiencing headache, backache & leg ache, along with alternating fever & chills & what seems to be cold symptoms, congestion, drippy nose & cough. To me this seems to be going on too long for the flu. Any suggestions?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi welcome to the health care magic

Yes all these symptoms can be from respiratory tract infection esp influenza infection

I need to know which treatment has been given for your flu...

You can take decongestant like antihistaminic drug and prophylactic antibiotic course

Steam inhalation done three times a day

Drink warm water for drinking

Avoid excess spicy foods and fatty meals

Take one tsp ginger juice with one tsp honey daily

Salt water gargle done

Throat swab taken and send for culture..
If influenza positive and if needed oseltamivir like antiviral medication can be prescribed by your physician

If chest pain present then chest x ray should be done

Hope your concern solved

Take care
