What Causes Persistent Fever With Swelling Of Lip?
Hi my son is still going through a fever, this is day 4 after vomiting twice in the first two days. We have been to the dr and am stil worried he is not very well. He is sleeping now, his top lip is swollen and has a temp of 39.0 °. Im worried it could be more serious? Keeping him cool im hoping his temp will come dwn soon, but he is stil shevering in his sleep?
Noted the history about your son who started with vomiting 4 days ago, fever and swelling of upper lip. Since you have not mentioned any medicines or investigations it is difficult to predict. Nor you have mentioned his age. My thoughts as per the little history you have mentioned this looks to be case of some sort of general disease with angioneurotic oedema of upper lip. Hence I would advise you the following: - Consul;t immediately a Paediatrician as this may need urgent attention or rush him to ER. - Give Paracetamol as per the weight. - Antihistamine if you know the exact dose, then only or wait till Doctor advises so. - Cold sponging if fever is uncontrollable.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
