General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

In case the fever persists in spite of antibiotics. There is possibility of bacterial resistance for antibiotics. Your son should be subjected to blood check ups, culture and sensitivity test of sputum. All of these would guide to choose suitable antibiotic for the child. Please discuss this with your doctor and get help.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
