What Causes Persistent Fever After Dental Treatment?

I went to the doctor and was prescribed augmentin. I had been running a fever for several days after visiting the dentist and getting four fillings. This morning I finally went to the doctor. In the office I had 101.4 fever; now 8 hours later my fever is up to 102.
