What Causes Persistent Dull Headache With A History Of Migraines?

I am experiencing a dull headache that has been persistent for nearly three days. I have a history of migraines, but haven t a concurrent flare-up like this in years. It was believed mine were e Induced by hormone fluctuation and certain triggers like scents and sodium/nitrates. Have slight upper jaw tension, but no other sinus related issues except for the headache. OTC headache medicines do not give any relief. My prescription Imitrex offered limited relief.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

The symptoms are consistent with common causes like migraine or tension headache, as a first line management you can try analgesics like aceclofenac or tramadol for pain relief.

If symptoms persist, bettet to consult a neurologist and plan for an MRI brain to rule out possible intra cranial (inside the brain) causes.

Hope I have answered your queries. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
