General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for the query. I understand your query.
Your cough is more likely to be allergic or esophageal reflux causing irritation of throat( mostly associated with heart burn ).
It needs few lifestyle changes like avoiding exposure to allergen/ to avoid situations which trigger the acid reflux.. like,
- Have small multiple servings of food,
- Avoid spicy, oily or triggering food.
- Avoid sleeping/ lying down before 2.5 hours of eating.
- Raising head end of bed,
- avoid smoking,
- loose extra weight.
Treatment would be anti allergic pills & cough syrup to combat allergy .
- Self care and antacids / H2 blockers like Zentac
Consult expert for finding specific cause & care
Thanks.
