What Causes Persistent Cold Sensation In The Feet Post A Spinal Decompression Surgery?

I have spinal stenosis, I had spinal decompression surgery over a year ago. before the surgery I had very cold feet and legs. After surgery the coldness is more severe and nobody seems to be able to help. I am to have nerve conduction testing in a couple weeks. This severe cold symptoms are destroying my everyday living.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for the query. I understand your concern.
Vertebral column has many nerves at each level of spine. Compression of these nerves due to spinal cord pathology causes various nurogenic symptoms. Surgery of such a delicate part cause pressure on such fibers the which usually disappear after tissues adjust in new space formed. This is possible within 6 to 12 months.
You had the cold feeling legs before the surgery also. This was due to damage/ compression of sensory fibers in the nerve supplying feet.It should have recovered by now.. but it's not.
Some back extension exercises &medicines to recover the problem can relieve. Please consult your doctor surgeon.
Thanks
