What Causes Persistent Anal Itching And Burning With Loss Of Weight?

Am male 36 yrs old. Have had a chronic problem with anal itching, burning and sometimes bleeding which was brought to doctors attention about 6 months ago. Was told they thought i had a anal fissue , and were unable to do a digital anal exam at the time due to pain. Was given nitroglycerin cream and wipes to use which helped. Was also started on vitamin D supplements as my blood showed a deficiency. Since then i have lost approx 40 lbs without dieting, anal problems having started giving me problems again, and all the fingers on my hands are pruning up and at times the skin is peeling on them.

Hi,

You need to consult your surgeon for treatment of recurring anal fissure.

Loss of weight may not be related to anal fissure. Loss of weight can occur due to various reasons like loss of nutrients in the stool, inadequate intake of adequate calories, the inability of the body to utilize nutrients etc.

A thorough examination needs to be done to determine the cause of weight loss.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
