Hi,

Prolonged use of antibiotics causes change of the normal intestinal flora which increases the chances of superimposed fungal infection and other bacteria to flourish which in turn may cause drugs induced enteritis and colitis. Check stool if it persists colonoscopy may be necessary.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Mutuma Geoffrey Zambezi
