What Causes Persistent Abdominal Discomfort With Difficulty In Urination?
I have abdominal pain on my left side and in the middle of my stomach. I am having trouble urinating sitting down when I have a bowel movement. the pain is minimal but it is consistant. I am also having trouble with my bowel movements. Just don t feel right at all. This has been going on for about a week now.
Abdominal pain with difficulty in urination can be associated with urinary infections or sometimes urinary calculus (stone). First of all, you must maintain adequate dehydration. Drink a lot of fluids - at least 2-3 liters of fluid per day. Maintain proper toilet hygiene. Reduce the intake of tea and coffee and try to avoid spicy and oily food. You can even take some antispasmodics and antacids. Also, take urinary alkaliser which comes in the form of sachets- to be dissolved in water and can be taken twice a day.
If still the problem is not solved you need to go for some investigations like complete blood count, urine routine, and stool routine test and ultrasound abdomen, so that we can have the exact diagnosis.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Milinda Gupta, Internal Medicine Specialist
