What Causes Periodic Weakness In Legs?

I am a 58-year old white male with hypothyroidism, being treated with 85 micrograms of Levothyroxin. I take testosterone injections weekly (0.7 ml). I take Tamsulosin for prostate enlargement. I also take multiple vitamins and supplements, such as a multi-vitamin, Vitamin A, Vitamin E, Omega-3, Co-Q10, Adapt (for adrenal support) and several other such supplements. I am overweight at 212 pounds, 5’8” tall, have high cholesterol and high triglycerides. I am not currently taking any drugs for these, although my family doctor had me on a statin drug with Co-Q10 until 6-8 months ago. While on the statin drug I did not present with any muscle pain or weakness that could be attributed to the drug. Problem: For 5-10 years I have suffered from periodic, significant leg weakness. It affects both legs equally and isn’t accompanied by pain, tingling, numbness or any other obvious symptoms. The weakness is not debilitating enough that I cannot function, but my level of function is reduced significantly. It may last 3-5 days before it goes away. Then the weakness may not come back for several weeks or longer. I had a lumbar disc repair approximately 10 years ago. An MRI from several months ago shows facet joint arthrosis and foraminal stenosis in the six joints between L2 and L5 and mild to moderate foraminal stenosis in the same vertebrae. The radiologist could find nothing to indicate the source of the weakness. My family doctor referred me to a nerve doctor, who used needles and a laptop computer. I don’t know what the procedure was called. She said there was no evidence of nerve damage, and ruled out nerve disease. There appeared to be no reason for the weakness until I noticed about 2 years ago that the weakness seemed to be brought on by lack of sleep. When I got less than 7-8 hours of sleep each night for several days in a row, the weakness would present, and would not go away for several days. This pattern has continued to the present. Two days ago I started eating a 1200 calorie per day diet to lose weight. By this morning I was starting the third day and noticed pronounced leg weakness when walking and climbing stairs. I have been getting 7.5 hours sleep each night, so I don’t think that is a contributing factor. I thought the weakness may be associated with the lower caloric intake, so about 10 AM I began eating normally again. I had peanut butter filled crackers for a snack and then at noon I ate a cheeseburger, tater-tots, and a dinner roll for lunch. By 6:00 PM the weakness seemed to be almost gone when I climbed a set of stairs. Does anyone have any ideas what could be wrong?

You are obviously right about diet correction. If we were not eating normally we would feel weakness. You should eat 4 times, but light food without cholesterol, avoid butter, cheese, oily food ,eggs at least 1 month. Add cod oil 2 capsules 2 times, olive oil 1 tablespoon 3 times, oats for breakfast, pomegranate or its juice, avocado, carrot, honey, walnuts, cranberry juice, green tea, flax seed, garlic,B-complex,apple every day, beet roots juice, water melon, pumpkin, coriander. Don't eat fry food. Continue vitamin E, A, Ca with vitamin D or cod oil.
Your cholesterin will get norm , just use diet and remedies which i suggest for quick cure.
Hope I answered your query. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help.
Wishing you good health!
