What Causes Peeling On Tongue After Eating Sour Sweets?

So I ate around three sour sweets and mitre got really sore and couldn't deal with the taste of them The next day my tongue started peeling. It's still the same colour but is now bleeding out of a patch that has been peeled off in the middle of my tongue. This has happened to me in the past but it has never bled before. What should I do?

Hi..
Thanks for the query..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern...

As per your complain and presentation of symptoms peeling of tongue due to eating sour sweets is due to Chemical burns and it is causing sloughing or peeling of the top layer of tongue and at times it can cause sloughing of the mucosa of the inner lips and cheeks ..

Due to inflammation there is formation of an inflamed patch causing bleeding..

Nothing to worry as it will be resolved soon..
You should take less spicy and sour foods..
Take anti-inflammatory painkiller Ibuprofen for relief..
Take a multivitamin pill daily..
Suck on ice pops for help..
Cold water rinses can help..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards..
