I am 8+ weeks post op robotic laparascopic hysterectomy. Followed surgeons instructions. Have mild spotting but told it was normal. Thursday evening had violet colored plastic pieces come out of my vagina after intercourse. No pain, no other symptoms. Called my gyn the next morning and was told to get checked. Turns out I have vaginal cuff dehiscence, approx. 1 cm. My gyn said he has never seen this before in 28 yrs of practice. Treatment course - more weeks of nothing in vagina, no exercise/exertion for at least 10 days and estrogen cream 1/2 applicator 1X/wk shallow insertion, recheck in 2 weeks. He said the pieces I discovered are what they tie off the sutures with, and the sutures dissolve. These things don t look like they d EVER dissolve, and I m wondering why they are coming out of me and what went wrong? Also is this the right course of treatment? My research indicates this is very rare and serious.
