What Causes Palpitations When Hungry?

I have hectic life and go long between meals.i get palpitations when I do go hungry and it all goes back to normal when I eat something.I am of normal weight and strong and sporty.should I be worried that I harm my heart long term by getting those palpitations quite often? Is my heart getting eroded (does the heart muscle get eaten when I'm hungry)? Apart from that my heart seems healthy and I have good blood results but I'm afraid my lifestyle is harming my heart. Really scared and want to change but have I possibly harmed my heart? Thanks for an answer!

Hi,
welcome to HCM,

Sensation of feeling one's own heartbeat during hunger times can be a normal phenomenon.
It is body's sympathetic response to stress and low energy levels of the body.
Timely meals can prevent such episodes.
There is no direct harm to your heart in the form of being eaten away by hunger as per your perception.
So you need not be scared of it.
Maintain a good and a healthy dietary lifestyle.

consult an expert Nutritionist for further queries.
