What Causes Palpitation Prior To Burps With Stress Induced Abdominal Disorders?
My husband has had stomach problems for years of stress. For the past 5 years he has heart palpitations that come just before he burps. On a 24 hour halter it showed heart palpitations but on a second halter it showed none. I ve just read that a hiatal hernia can come from stress and can irritate the vagus nerve and cause heart palpitations, and that cardiologists don t think of diagnosing this as a vagus nerve issue. is this true?

Hiatal hernia can causes acid reflux, heartburn, belching or burping. It can trigger palpitations. You are suggested to get your husband clinically examined for abdominal hernia and abdominal disorders. He will have to get blood workout and imaging tests done. In the meantime he can take antacids, PPI's for relieve.
He should take small meals multiple times a day. He should take cut on addictions if any. Limit food with high fat content, cut on food (spicy, oily, junk food) that trigger the symptoms. However, since he has palpitations he should get a cardiac check up done. Get lipid function tests, EKG, Echo, stress tests done to rule out any developing CAD. He should avoid sedentary lifestyle, take healthy home made food, adequate sleep and avoid stress.
