What Causes Pale Skin Around The Injured Wound?

Hi, I cut my finger 5 days ago and had to be taken to hospital, they didn t want to put stitches in because of the position so instead put 5 streri-strips on, I changed the bandage a few hours ago and notice that the skin around it was all turning white and not healing, is this a problem??

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

It is quite common for the wounds of hand and sole. and is due to the degeneration of the thick superficial layer of the skin. Nothing much to worry and the wound will heal in a couple of weeks.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
