What Causes Painful Urination While On Citalopram?

I’m currently taking citalopram and since taking it I’ve noticed my body acting weird. I have painful urination nearly to the point of unbearableness and discharge from my penis too (runny some clear some cloudy white), is this definitely from this? I was concerned at first in case it was chlamydia or gonorrhoea but I haven’t had intercourse since the last time I had a STD check. Thank you!

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Your symptoms seem to be related to an urinary tract infection. I suggest you to do an urinalysis to confirm the diagnosis. Meanwhile drink water and other liquids.
Hope my answer was helpful. If you have further queries feel free to contact me again.
Kind regards!
