What Causes Painful Swelling Of My Toes?

Both of my little toes are swollen, the right one has two purple spots on it and started hurting me over 8months ago and the left one just started hurting me over 2 weeks ago, is swollen and only turns purple when I get into a hot shower. I am in pain, I can't think of what might caused this?

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

It is possible that the symptoms may be due to gout. This sometimes affects the toes initially.

This can be determined by blood tests or imaging which can be initiated by your doctor.

NSAIDs such as celebrex, ibuprofen or naproxen would help. There are also gout specific meds if needed.

I hope this helps
