Hi, this little girl has just returned from the er, ruled out strep throat. She has antibiotics now. Her symptoms include a strange rash with many raised reddish brown bumps under her nose, around her nose, and cheeks. Her neck is very painful and has swelling in, possibly, the lymph areas, about 3 separate areas of swelling and extreme tenderness. If the antibiotics do not work within 24 hours, an MRI will be performed from the er department. If necessary, the physician will operate to open where the possible abscess is, maybe the nasal passages. My question is, may she have warm compresses applied around the neck and face? Last night she wanted an ice pack before we knew what was wrong. Also, are there any essential oils that should be used, say, in a vaporizer? Or, should she just have regular steam? Thank you, Lynne
