What Causes Painful Swelling And A Dark Bruise On The Leg And Foot?
I have had a few (3 or 4) episodes of intense pain, stinging and burning in a very localized area - leg, knee and now foot. The area is red and swollen with a clearly defined line. Several hours later the redness, swelling and pain are replaced with a dark vivid bruise still in a clearly defined line. What is going on?

The symptoms you have mentioned indicates an underlying bleed and it has to be evaluated.
Consult an orthopedician and get an MRI scan at the earliest.
As of now, you can apply ice packs for symptomatic relief.
