Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Painful Spots On The Hands And Feet After Taking Amoxicillin?
Took amoxicllin onky 3 doses. Ended up with very tiny, almost unnoticeable spots on hands, feet and inside of cheeks of mouth, as well as canker sores on gums. The spots are painful to the touch, but also may itch at times. I stopped taking it per my doctor and still have these symptoms and it s been over 36 hours later. Now my feet have a pins and needles feeling when I walk and they are painful/burning. Is this really just a reaction to amoxicillin? How long does it take to go away after stopping? I am also 20 weeks pregnant.
The narrated spots are secondary to the side effects of the Amoxicillin only, and one has to wait and watch till the complete clearance of the drug from the system.
Plenty of liquids with the prescription of antihistamine will help greatly.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Dr. Purva Patel,
