What Causes Painful Spasms In The Lower Abdomen During Pregnancy?
I m 5 and a half weeks pregnant, the doctor said it might be an eptomic pregnancy because she couldn t see it on an ultrasound bit also said it may he to soon to find out, I m going back in two days to find out for sure but I ve been having really painful contractions on the lower right side of my belly , they come and go and only last about two seconds, is this a normal symptom for a healthy pregnancy or do you think it s eptomic? Thankyou
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Painful contraction of the abdomen is fairly common in normal pregnancy so it may well be normal. However in the light of what your doctor had said ectopic pregnancy could also be the possibility, though the pain would have been more constant, but still it should be ruled out if there is any suspicion for it.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Rahman
