Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
how can I heal a sore on my labia near the fold? I originally had an ingrown hair and I was able to apply pressure and release the hair but now there is a painful but small sore. I applied cortizone 10 to it and it helps with the pain but as soon as it dries the pain comes back. Then I applied baby rash oinment and that also seems to work but leaves a mess. I need to know how to heal this and how to heal it fast because it is very painful when my underwear rubs against it regardless of the size I put on
Before running into final conclusions, I need to have a clear photo of the small sore you have on vaginal area.
Next, I advise to: - wash your genitalia with warm water and unscented soap - rinse well with warm water followed immediately with cold water - dry well - apply antibiotic ointment containing gentamycin and hydrocortisone - oral antibiotics might be needed, but you need a prescription by your doctor for that
If no improvement within a few days, please consult with a dermatologist for a more specific evaluation and treatment.
All the best! Dr.Albana
