What Causes Painful Red Rashes Throughout The Body?

I have a blotchy pinkish red rash over most of my body. Mostly from the waist down to the bottom of my toes. It is also on my fingers, hands and arms. The red areas are painful and feel warmer. It seems to be triggered by stress. It usually comes and goes a few times a year. It first began in January 1987 with a temperature exceeding 104 degrees, the rash and even white blisters on my gums. I also experienced excessive fatigue. I was told then it is Chronic Fatigue IDS. I am currently on the 8th day. Please let know what I can do.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Your symptoms seem to be related to stress rash. Treatment for a stress rash can usually be done at home, using nonprescription antihistamines. These should help to relieve the itching. Antihistamines are available for purchase over-the-counter. Alternatively, cooling the skin can also relieve itching. I also recommend a healthy lifestyle to help lower the stress levels.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
