What Causes Painful Red Bumps On The Lower Buttocks?

I all of a sudden have a little patch of painful red bumps on my left butt cheek. I am married and do not have sex with anyone but my husband. I have however, recently gone to a tanning salon and layed in a tanning bed. I also got waxed the other day. These bumps are extremely painful, hurts constantly.

Thanks for your query.
These bumps which you are mentioning are due to inflammation of the hair follicles due to waxing.
This is common and most of the time it will resolve in 7- 10 days. You should wear loose fitting clothes so that they don’t rub on affected area. Secondly soothe the affected area with ice cubes for cooling effect. Avoid hot baths until after the bumps are cured.
Apply topical ointment containing polymyxin B sulfate and bacitracin zinc once daily for 3 days. It will help heal the folliculitis. I hope this will help.
