What Causes Painful Pus Filled Lump On The Anus?

I had a very painful yellowish looking bump on the edge of my anus for a week now the pain was getting worse everyday then today I was cleaning it and this hard yellow ball the size of a pea came out the severe pain almost instantly went away its still very sore and there is a large hole there now. What could this be? I dont know if it matters but the hard ball broke into like a powder.

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain it seems that painful yellowish looking lump at the edge of the anus seems most probably be due to formation of a Perianal abscess ..
It seems that the sore hole left in the place is due to draining of the abscess..
It occurs most commonly due to hairfollicle infection while other causes can be infected gland in the area or infection in the skin leading to pus formation under the skin..

I would suggest you to consult a Proctologist or Anorectal surgeon or you can even see a general surgeon and get evaluated.
He can advise you a course of antibiotics, anti inflammatory painkiller and topical application of antibiotic, steroid and numbing ointment..
