What Causes Painful Pinprick Sensations In Hands And Dehydration?

starting yesterday, i ve had painful pin-prick sensations in both my hands. always on the palm sides. these painful spasms come on about every 10-20 minutes. these are not just normal pins and needles sensations, these HURT. they startle me every time. i have just recovered from a cold and have been on more medications than usual, and a little dehydrated, but i have never had this feeling before in my life. i m worried it could be a neurological thing. any thoughts?

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hello I have studied your case.
There is possibility of vascular occlusion or nerve compression leading to radicular arm pain.
I will advise colour doppler and MRI spine.
EMG NCV study will help in diagnosis.
Till time you can take medications like pentoxyphylline and methylcobalamine consulting your doctor.
I hope I have answered your questions. If you have further questions please feel free to contact us. I will be happy to answer. Take care.
