What Causes Painful Mole On Head?

Hi I have a mole light brown in colour at the back of my head since birth but now since few days maybe I got more concerned all of a sudden so I started touching it again and again and due to that I think it has got little painful maybe because of hair on it like pulling then .i need to know is it problematic kindly let me know and it s elevated also since years my age is 32

Hi,

It may be compound melanocytic Nevus. Kindly avoid pulling of hair on the mole. Also tell the barber to take safety while trimming the hairs. There may be mild infection leading to pain. Take a short course of antibiotics and anti inflammatory drugs. There is no need to worry. Regular check up by your doctor is needed. If there is change in surface of the mole..consult the dermatologist immediately.
