What Causes Painful Menstruation While Having Copper IUD?

I have inserted copper t on May 11 2017. It is for 10 yrs. Now from 5 months I have severe pain on my periods. Often I get itching & burning sensation & UTI problem also. So I feel that it is because of copper t. Please suggest me that should I remove it or not..

Hi, I think you should consult a gynecologist for complete examination first. It can be die to some vaginal infection or urinee infection not necessarily due to copper t. Get urine checked for routine and microscopy and culture. Drink around 3 to 4 litres of water per day and take some urine alkaliser like syrup alkasol. You may need some antibiotic and antifungal drugs orally as well as vaginal to treat that. If you are relieved, there is no need of removing copper T. Talk to your doctor regarding this. Hope it helps.
